Special Educational Needs

Free Termly Network

Inviting SENCOs and those working within SEND settings in Somerset to share and develop creative approaches to support their learners.

Creative Leaders supporting those with additional needs deserve that little bit extra so we help you meet with peers and share best practice to raise achievement and support the social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of all students.

Our termly networks signpost approaches and resources designed to make the most of the creative arts within Special School and Pupil Referral Unit contexts.

Places for Somerset SEND staff are currently fully subsidised thanks to our partner Sound Foundation Somerset

Bolder and Braver

Health, Wealth and Happiness

Spaeda deliver projects that help unlock the creativity in children and young people and support their well-being. Here we share our Arts and Well-being project ‘Bolder and Braver’ which included a programme of creative and therapeutic activity for vulnerable children with additional needs. Bolder and Braver promotes wellbeing through the arts and develops skills to use into adulthood.

We are very grateful for the expertise of project partners: The project schools, our lead artists, sen.se, Young Somerset and the Arts and Wellbeing Team in ensuring it’s success. The project was made possible with funding from Public Health.

You can find out more about the project here or watch our short film below:
