Spaeda's Creative Education Challenge

Against a backdrop of budget constraints and policy changes our school communities increasingly report a lack of time, money and resources for arts, creativity and adventure.

To combat these challenges we are helping communities across the county to access training and raise funds for high quality arts activities. By sharing what works...and what doesn't...we aim to develop a model of ongoing fundraising and delivery for the benefit of all children and young people in Somerset.

Our Creative Education Challenge had a great kick start. SPAEDA were selected from 500 applicants to bring a unique opportunity to Somerset. Thanks to Arts Council England’s Catalyst Evolve Programme, our fundraising up to the end of August 2019 could be matched £1 for £1, helping school communities bring children and young people high quality creative experiences that they would not normally have access to. You can see an example of the projects made possible through this match funding here and we look forward to sharing more!

We believe that all children are entitled to a creative education and access to arts and culture. Help us level the playing field for Somerset's Children and Young People.

If you want to support our Creative Education Challenge we encourage you to get in touch or donate.
