Making SPACE
Professional Development Programme

Experience Unique Gardens, Meadows & Woodland Walks

With the generous support of Wick Farm, Spaeda introduce 'Making SPACE', a programme of creative workshops and networking events to support the well-being and continued professional development of educators, arts teachers and artist teachers.

It runs from Monday 12th June – Sunday 2nd July 2023 at Wick Farm near Langport. A creative haven in Somerset with a beautiful 16th century farmhouse that sits within amazing gardens filled with a mix of eclectic accessories and artistic ephemera. The grounds range from formal areas through to secluded woodland and include areas for contemplation and healing using the natural world as inspiration.

"Just such good value for what is delivered"

"A very relaxed atmosphere, lovely to meet fellow artists with a wide range of skills"

"Wonderful resources to take away and use - would be great to spend more time here!"

"It is such a lovely opportunity to be creative in a wonderful venue, to share with others and to discover new ideas and approaches"

The Making SPACE programme includes a menu of events to pick and choose from: short after school workshops; all day events to get your teeth into the creative process; residential time to relax with others; friendly artists’ critique sessions, seminars and talks.

All workshops and events will be led by expert arts educators who understand the importance of staying in touch with your own creative practice.

The programme will particularly benefit those looking for inclusive, creative approaches to engage SEMH and SEND children and we welcome subject specialists as well as non-specialist education staff.

The Making SPACE programme is subsidised for those supporting children and young people in state funded education settings, if you are interested in booking but do not work in this capacity please contact us directly before booking – we may be able to offer you a place.
