Wednesday 20 January 2010 – The Brewhouse, Taunton 10am – 1pm

If you are considering making an application for funding to Arts Council England, this seminar will help you decide whether you can make a strong enough case against the criteria of Grants for the arts, our open-to-application fund and, if so, give you the confidence to ensure that you are able to submit the strongest possible application.

The seminar will cover all aspects of the scheme but will concentrate on two particular parts of making an application; the creation of the proposal, and setting out the budget. Our priority is to provide advice for individual artists, but you are welcome to attend if you are a member of an organisation and the information will be equally relevant.

The seminar leader will not be able to enter into detailed discussion on individual applications, but will be available to give advice for a short period of time following the seminars.

To get the best from the seminar it is essential that you obtain a copy of the Grants for the arts application pack beforehand and read the guidelines. You can do this by visiting our website or by requesting a hard copy by calling 0845 300 6200.

The seminar also offers an opportunity for artists networking and for an information update about the work of Arts Council England. This often can lead to a very full morning so, in order to gain the maximum benefit from the seminar, please ensure you arrive in good time and are able to stay for the whole morning.

The seminar is free and tea and coffee will be provided, but you will need to register in advance in order to secure a place. You can do this by calling Clare Bromley on 01392 229271 or email at
