The Interactive Training Day aims to provide frontline Children & Young People’s practitioners the space to develop their skills and network with colleagues from across the county.

This is a day dedicated to training Somerset’s Children & Young People’s Workforce (paid and Voluntary staff) that work with young people aged 0-19.

All voluntary and paid members of the Children & Young People’s Workforce are invited to this event.

The training is FULLY FUNDED and colleagues from the community and voluntary sector are particularly welcome.

However, a cancellation fee of £30 for half day & £50 for full day will apply if anyone books a place and fails to take it up without giving reasonable notice.

Workshops include:

  • Money Aware! Financial toolkit for young people
  • AUDIT (brief interventions with young alcohol users
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Staff Supervision
  • Nature Crafts and Activities
  • Basic Child Protection Awareness
  • Who’s Conflict is it (Conflict Management)
  • First Aid
  • Sexual Health

Booking a place on the Interactive Training Day is essential; the deadline for booking is Monday 1st November 2010  Please note: places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
