 Traditional tales from the Land of the Rising Sun Sat 31 July as part of the Super Sashiko day of free events at Plymouth City Museum.

Storyteller David Heathfield will be accompanied on the Chikuzen Biwa, a five-string Japanese lute, by musician Philip Robinson. Each of the two free sessions starting at 1.30 and 2.30 will feature traditional Japanese tales of fools, tricksters and magical creatures as well as the creation of an extraordinary new Japanese tale.

 Storyteller David Heathfield and Palestinian oud-player and singer Fadi Alnaji invite you to join their caravan of Middle-Eastern tales journeying through blinding sandstorms and delicately-perfumed gardens to reveal the vices and virtues that bind all humans together.

We will be performing along with storytellers of great renown from all over the UK and many parts of the world at The Westcountry Storytelling Festival 27 - 29 August, 2010, Bank Holiday weekend at Embercombe, Higher Ashton, Exeter
