Last chance to take part in SAW 10: Open Studios Event

Extension of Registration Deadline to Monday 15 March, 2010

In the past few weeks, the SAW (Somerset Art Works) office has been inundated with calls regarding Somerset Art Weeks 2010 registration. Therefore to avoid the disappointment of artists, we have decided to extend the registration deadline until Monday 15 March, 2010.

About Somerset Art Weeks 2010: Open Studios Event

Taking place from 18 September to 3 October 2010

Somerset Art Weeks 2010 returns to its roots focusing on artists in their working environment. It will be about artists as individuals, how they make their work, their inspiration and creative process. It aims to support artists who want to work professionally and promote their business.

We wish to present a diverse range of media from pottery, painting and watercolour to new technology, installation and live arts. A professional studio is not a necessity; That could mean any space. (or a temporary venue where you create your work. The only requirement being that it is suitable to be visited by the public.

 Open Studios Exhibitions

This year, SAW will organise several high profile exhibitions at public venues to highlight the work made by Somerset artists and makers who are participating in Open Studios. The exhibitions will be presented by art-form or theme, and will focus on raising the professional profile of artists in Somerset. Artists will need to register for Art Weeks in order to take part.
