Staff team

Spaeda takes pride in its highly knowledgeable and skilled team. We work closely with other organisations to provide a high quality service for the arts and education sectors.

Welcome to the Spaeda Team!

Artistic Director - Alice Crane

Alice is a practicing visual artist and regularly exhibits her work. She is passionate about passing on creative skills to children and young people and has gained over 10 years practical experience in participatory arts, before joining the organisation in September 2001. With the little free time Alice does have, you will find her dancing around her much loved vegetable patch.

Education Projects Co-ordinator - Sarah Jobling

Sarah has been with Spaeda since 2003. With a background in fashion and a degree in textile design, Sarah's interests have always been in the arts. Sarah is extremely passionate about the importance creativity plays in child development and uses her role at Spaeda to help create opportunities for children and young people in Somerset to access the arts. In her free time Sarah enjoys socialising, cooking and dancing round her kitchen...preferably all at once.

Administration and Finance Officer - Christine Rickets

Christine has had a long and varied career in administration (from a laser manufacturer to an FE college) and loves to organise. Her experience has proven invaluable when facing the challenges of working in the arts.  She has been part of Spaeda’s friendly and committed team since January 2008. We are lucky enough to sample Christine's famous cakes on a regular basis. She is one almighty baker!

Development and Communications Officer - (Flora Alwen) Annie Hudson

YAP Projects Co-ordinator - Annie Hudson

Annie has recently taken over from Flora and will be covering her maternity leave for the next year. Having returned from a long period of travel and aid work, Annie has seen firsthand the importance creativity plays on a child's personal well-being and growth. She worked in the communications department at Battersea Arts Centre, London and now wishes to use her knowledge to support the arts and youth sectors in Somerset. When not at work you will often find Annie with her head in a travel book dreaming of her next creative adventure.
